Meet Shelly Ehmer
A little about me.. I went to the school of Hard Knocks. My Great
Grandma would call it character building.. Needless to say, I have a lot
of character.
I started fishing young,
grew up 1/2 in Oregon and 1/2 in So.Cal. Divorced parents were an asset
in this case, I learned the best of both worlds. We fished on the
Columbia River in Oregon, John Day and so many more over there.
I
started fishing offshore several years ago which eventually led to
working on the sport boats. I loved it. My daughter was out there with
me doing multiple day trips too. She is one tough little lady. She has
to be to have me as her Mom. I am proud of her.
The fly fishing led me
to Island Park Idaho. Fell in love with it and moved there. I started
fishing Henry's Lake, then the rivers all over the area. The rivers
used to scare the hell out of me, some still do. I could never wade in
them alone much less row a boat. Thanks to an X, he toughened me up on
the water and got me on the sticks so he could fish more. I should thank
him some for day for that, because that led me to the freedom of buying
my own boat. I can fish alone while floating. It is the greatest
feeling in the world to be able to do that. I'm trying to break out of
the fishing alone thing and fish with more people as much as I can.
Hence me starting TroutChicks and having Michelle as a partner I can
improve my people skills.. HA! Anyway I look forward to fishing with
everyone here.
I also write for Lady Angler Magazine & Lady Hunter Magazine. I must admit that it is tough putting myself out there, but why not? What do I have to loose? Nothing. Plus I love what they stand for! They also tolerate me and my randomness. I am sure I am a pain to them on most days.
I wish you and yours Tight Lines and Calm Seas,
Shelly
